L'HÔTEL MON-REPOS and its "History"...
The Hotel Mon-Repos represents a family heritage run by several generations. A courageous and enterprising man is at the origin of this adventure - Mr. Charles SORGIUS - accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Lina RIESEN, who bought the hotel in 1928.
Thebeginnings were difficult.
Atthe time, precarious means of locomotion did not favor Hotel Mon-Repos. The station was once the center of business. As early as 1920, the International Labor Office moved in. Customers were few and far between. With determination, our great-grandfather decided to seek out the future clientele himself at the Geneva train station, carrying a sign offering "all-comfort" room rentals!
When the Second World War broke out in 1939, the economy was slow and only a few servicemen stayed at the hotel. The solution to keep the business running was to take over all the hotel duties himself, accompanied by his loyal wife.
Life returned to normal. The United Nations expanded, and various international organizations moved in. With passion and determination, our great-grandfather managed to turn things around and bought buildings 133 and 127 next door to the hotel, in order to expand the business and the residence. The passion for the Swiss hotel business was passed on to the next generations: husband and wife Max and Lydia Keller-Sorgius, then husband and wife Eric and Claire Keller. These generations have developed this heritage with the same desire, in the face of the ups and downs of everyday life.
We thank them for this, as the fourth 'young' generation, my sister and I, have received a gift whose contents we respect. The Swiss hotel industry has a long history... however, despite the times and fashions, one principle remains infallible... that of a genuine and efficient welcome. We wish you an excellent stay.

L'HÔTEL MON REPOS S'ENGAGE
For many years now, we have been striving to respect our planet by using environmentally-friendly cleaning products. Our electricity is supplied by new renewable energies (solar and biomass) as well as hydraulic power. Most of our electricity comes from Switzerland, with some produced in Geneva. This choice enables us to take a first step towards the development of solar energy in the canton of Geneva.
